We will be occasionally updating this page to give some examples of cases we've successfully handled in the past. While these results in no way guarantee any specific result in your case, they are relevant and real examples of prior results.
Pickup and Tractor Trailer Accident
A tractor trailer was improperly loaded and when the load shifted, the driver lost control. The collision with our client's pickup truck was a serious one, resulting in numerous serious fractures and a short-term coma. After extensive negotiations with various insurance carriers in New York City, a settlement was achieved paying our client over $1.2 million dollars over the next 20 years. This allowed him to seek retraining and re-enter the workforce at a less stressful job.
Rear End Collision
Although the impact seemed minor at the time, our client went on to have a degenerating condition that ultimately resulted in disc surgery and disability. Fighting the insurance industry prejudice against "minor impacts" we were able to secure a $95,000 settlement and thereafter recover another $50,000 in Underinsured Motorist coverage.
Dog Bite
Our client stopped by a yard sale. While shopping, Defendant's dog (unsecured and with a history of "snapping") bit our client in the face, causing a scar even after plastic surgery. We were able to secure policy limits of $50,000.
Defective Product
Our office participated in successful litigation against General Motors concerning a defective design of certain GM cars that incorporated the seat belt mechanism into the door, rather than into the door frame. In this unfortunate accident, our client was killed when his car rolled over and the door opened. After opening the seat belt (as designed) became useless and a survivable crash was converted into an unnecessary fatality. Terms of the settlement are sealed.
